Kristy Kurjan is an intuitive abstract artist based in Traverse City, Michigan, specializing in large-scale paintings inspired by the natural beauty of northern Michigan. Her work reflects her love of nature, textures, and organic forms, often depicting water, landscapes, and the serene beauty of the outdoors. A lover of water and the color blue, Kristy frequently incorporates their calming and dynamic qualities into her art. A graduate of Michigan State University, Kristy is also an accomplished author and publisher. Her board book collection includes four beloved titles: I Spy… A Pig in a Plane, Nap-a-Roo, Dream Sweet Dreams, and The Many Ways to Say I Love You. These books, known for their heartwarming poetry and charming illustrations, have delighted families and young readers everywhere.

Kristy takes great pride in her role as an entrepreneur and small business owner, embracing the responsibility and creativity it requires. She is passionate about supporting local businesses whenever possible, fostering community connections and growth in Traverse City and beyond.

Kristy is also an art instructor at Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City, Michigan, where she shares her passion for creativity with aspiring artists. Her work has been featured in notable publications, including Shout Out Michigan, Bold Journey 2024, and Amazon.com Author Central.
